Dear friends in Christ, This weekend we enter the month of November which is dedicated to the Holy Souls. On Monday, we celebrate the feast of All Souls Day when there are three opportunities to attend Holy Mass to pray for our deceased friends and relatives. After the midday Mass, we will visit the graveyard and bless the graves. Please return your November Dead Lists as soon as possible so we can place the names of your loved ones on the altar and pray for them at Holy Mass throughout the month of the Holy Souls. The November dead list envelopes are available in the glass porch. There is a second collection this weekend throughout the Archdiocese for the Sick and Retired Clergy Fund. Since Belmont Parish has always been run by the monks of Belmont Abbey, the second collection here will go to support the sick and retired monks of Belmont. Thank you for supporting those who have devoted themselves to a life of prayer and to bringing people closer to God. Thank you to everyone who has been praying and asking about my father, Dominic, after his boating accident where he broke eight ribs. He is now back home in Abergavenny and doing remarkably well. I will be having a little break, going to see my parents from Thursday for a week, so I will not be around next weekend but I will still produce our newsletter before heading off!
